Day 12

I took this day off. My feet were in quite a bit of pain and I knew I needed rest. Happily, my hostess Yukiko was willing to drive me and two other guests, Hiroko and Makoto, around to see some of the local sights. We visited a zen temple Jomanji and saw some nice spots next to the ocean that look really nice to lounge at during the summer. Later, I headed down to Shishikui onsen. It had a huge bath overlooking the ocean, and I had it all to myself for the hour or so I was there. Lucky!

That evening was the most fun I had since Dwayne left. I spent the evening eating amazing food and talking and laughing with Hiroko, Makoto, and Yukiko. I was so glad for the wonderful company, and it reinvigorated me to continue this journey.
